    Vulnerability scanning is a valuable service that provides a “hacker’s view” of a client’s network. Vulnerability scanning provides an in-depth assessment of a client’s network, identifying security vulnerabilities on a continual basis. This provides security analysts with an additional means to uncover and eliminate any security threats.

    A responsible and comprehensive security solution should include desktop anti-virus immunization protection. The managed network anti-virus protection is based on Network Associates’ (McAfee) solution, providing the only regular enforcement of virus policy on all networked PCs and servers. Mana Security will regularly inoculate and globally manage each client’s virus protection.

    Content filtering protects a client's work environment from exposure to inappropriate online content. Active filtering also prevents children from viewing pornography or racially intolerant websites. Mana Security will administer usage restriction policies with integrated keyword and cookie blocking, URL filtering, Java and ActiveX blocking.

    Active e-mail filtering scans inbound SMTP packets by inspecting attachments against a pre-defined list of restricted file extensions. Based on the client’s distinct security policy, various levels of severity will determine the action employed when a prohibited file extension is encountered.

    Mana Security provides clients with the ability to transmit sensitive information over untrusted networks through Virtual Private Networking (VPN). VPN uses IPSec, the industry standard protocol for VPN, to protect the integrity and privacy of communication and data transfers from unauthorized access over the Internet. Flexible options are available to clients who utilize Mana Security’s VPN services: Remote Access, Branch Offices, and Extranet Access.

    Although an excellent means of protecting transferred data over the public Internet, IPSec alone, lacks user authentication to verify the user establishing the connection. Authentication protects the client’s confidential and important network resources by validating a user’s identity by the usage of digital certificates and PKI. Authentication is provided in association with VeriSign, the foremost provider of trusted infrastructure services.

    High Availability eliminates network downtime by allowing the configuration of two firewall devices (one primary and one backup) as a high availability pair. In this configuration, the backup security appliance monitors the primary device and takes over operation in the event of a failure. This ensures a secure and reliable connection between the protected network and the Internet.


    Clients will receive Usage and Log reports summarizing network and security activities through graphical displays of user activity, security threats, and network Internet usage. Individual clients will also have the option to view real-time and historical reports via confidential, Web-based access based on the client’s service level option.
